If a tour is sold out, is there a waiting list?

Yes, you may join a waitlist in case there is an opportunity of a cancellation, on first-come, first-served basis. Name addition to this list is not assumed, so please inform us that you wish to be on the list.

Who typically goes on these tours?

Those who want to have an immersive experience with the culture and lifestyle of Italy. Typically, we have couples and friends who come along for a unique, relaxing and exhilarating experience together. We will have culinary artists who want a close-up look at the origins of Italian food & be able to meet Italian chefs to see firsthand how traditional Italian food is made. And, often, we have those who only care to enjoy the consumption of the food. We very often have solo travelers who are ready for their next adventure because of our private tours to historical and top attractions throughout the tour. Our staff is incredibly hospitable and welcoming however you arrive, so you will feel very connected to the Italian culture and lifestyle by the end of your experience.

Are bookings refundable?

90 or more days: $250 fee, plus the costs of any non-refundable hotel or ground transportation tickets already purchased by ICT for the guest.

89-60 days: $150 fee, plus 75% of guest’s share of total tour cost, plus the costs of any nonrefundable hotel or ground transportation tickets already purchased by ICT for the guest and not covered by the other cancellation charges.

59-1 day: 100% of guest’s share of total tour cost will be non-refundable.

Should I get travel insurance?

We highly recommend guests obtain travel insurance and can assist in that process upon request.

Are there discounts available?

For tours of groups of 8 or more, a discount is available, depending on the tour. Please contact ICT for more information.

Can special diet restrictions or allergies be accommodated?

We work very closely with our guests to accommodate any dietary requirements they may have. We provide a pre-tour form, which we ask guests to complete for our chefs to have before you arrive, which addresses any diet needs.

How far in advance must a tour be booked?

We recommend guests make reservations at least 6 months in advance due to the limited availability of spaces and considering airfare must be purchased in advance. There is no minimum time period, however, full payment must be received before the start of your tour date in order for you to attend.

Are children allowed on the tours?

Children who are 18 and younger are allowed on group reservations only where a legal guardian is with the child. Anyone 18+ can attend tours on their own.

What type of clothing should I pack?

We recommend guests bring a combination for cool and warm, summer clothing, as evenings can occasionally be cool. Since walking is a part of the daily tours our guests are taken on, we recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, hats and light clothing. Our tours provide a variety of experiences and amenities, including access to a pool and beach, and fine Italian dining at wineries and the villas, so keep that in mind when packing.

If I’m going to be travelling alone, am I guaranteed to have my own room?

Since these are small group tours, there are a limited number of single supplements available. Though very rare, if there are other single travelers in your group, and all the other rooms are filled, the single travelers will be sharing a bathroom and bedroom together. You will be notified if this is the case.

Can gift certificates be purchased?

Gift certificates are available for double occupancy reservations and can be used based on availability. To purchase a gift certificate, please email us at contact@italianculinarytours.com to request one be mailed out to you. Your gift certificate will be shipped within 5-7 business days of received payment. Payment can be made in the form of a check or PayPal with a 3.9% processing fee.
